Our Approach to Privacy
ARBITRARY ZEN, LLC operates skillhead.com and publishes the Skillhead mobile game for Android. This policy explains what information the website and mobile app handle, why it is used, and the choices available to you. We aim to collect only the information needed to provide these services, respond to messages, understand and improve the game, support online features, and protect our users and systems.
Information You Provide
When you use the website contact form, you provide your first name, last name, email address, and message. If you contact us directly by email, we receive your email address and any information you include in your message.
When you place a store order, you may provide your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, order notes, coupon information, and details about the products you purchase. The checkout may also create an order number and retain information about payment status, shipping, refunds, and customer-service communications.
The Skillhead mobile app uses an email address for player account functionality. The app may also associate your account with service-generated player or account identifiers.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the contact form.
Website Technical Information
Our hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the website. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, access times, referring pages, and security or error-log information.
The website itself does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising networks, personalized advertisements, tracking pixels, or a newsletter signup. The separate Skillhead mobile app uses Firebase Analytics as described below.
Contact Form and Formspree
The contact form is processed by Formspree. When you submit the form, the information you enter and related technical information are transmitted to Formspree so the message can be delivered to us and protected against abuse or spam. Formspree handles that information under its own Privacy Policy.
Online Store, WooCommerce, and Cookies
The online store uses WooCommerce to manage products, carts, checkout, orders, shipping, discounts, and related store functions. WooCommerce and WordPress may use cookies or similar browser storage to remember cart contents, maintain a checkout session, support account or login features when used, and protect the store from misuse. These technologies are necessary for the shopping cart and checkout to function.
Order records may include the information you provide at checkout, products and quantities ordered, prices, taxes, shipping details, coupon use, payment and refund status, IP address, browser information, and internal order notes. We use this information to complete purchases, deliver merchandise, provide customer service, prevent fraud, issue refunds, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.
Payments Through Square
Online payments are processed by Square. When you pay, payment and related transaction information is transmitted directly to Square so it can authorize the transaction, help prevent fraud, provide receipts, and process refunds or disputes. ARBITRARY ZEN does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code. We may receive limited payment information such as payment status, transaction identifiers, card brand, and the last digits of the payment method. Square handles information under its Privacy Notice.
Bandcamp Player
The Music page contains an embedded player provided by Bandcamp. Loading or using that player connects your browser to Bandcamp, which may receive technical information and use cookies or similar technologies according to Bandcamp’s Privacy Policy.
Links to Other Websites
The website links to third-party services such as Bandcamp, Instagram, and TikTok. If you follow one of those links, the third party’s privacy policy and practices apply. ARBITRARY ZEN does not control those external services.
Skillhead Mobile App
The Skillhead Android app includes cloud saves, leaderboards, and online multiplayer. To provide those features, the app may process:
- Your email address and service-generated player or account identifiers
- Game progress, cloud-save data, scores, rankings, achievements, and leaderboard entries
- Online match, lobby, session, connection, and gameplay data needed to connect players and operate multiplayer matches
- App activity such as game sessions, feature usage, gameplay events, and interactions
- Technical information such as app version, device type, operating-system version, language, IP address, approximate region derived from IP address, and app or installation identifiers
The Skillhead app does not display advertisements, and we do not use the app’s information for personalized advertising.
Google Play Store
Skillhead is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google may process Google account, device, installation, download, licensing, security, and diagnostic information as part of providing Google Play. That information is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. ARBITRARY ZEN does not receive your Google account password or full payment-card information from Google Play.
Firebase Analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is used and to improve gameplay, features, reliability, and performance. Firebase Analytics may process app activity, gameplay events, app or installation identifiers, device and operating-system information, app version, language, IP address, and approximate location derived from technical information. Google handles this information under its Firebase Privacy and Security information and Google Privacy Policy.
Unity Gaming Services
The app uses Unity Gaming Services for cloud saves, leaderboards, and related online game functionality. Unity may process player or account identifiers, email information used for account functionality, game progress, saved game data, scores, rankings, achievements, and technical information needed to deliver and secure those services. Unity’s handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy Hub, including its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Photon Multiplayer
The app uses Photon, operated by Exit Games, to provide online multiplayer. Photon may process a player or session identifier, lobby and room information, match and gameplay data transmitted during multiplayer sessions, connection information, IP address, approximate region, device or network information, and diagnostic logs needed to connect players, route game traffic, maintain service quality, and protect the service. Photon’s practices are described in its Privacy and Cookie Policy.
How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Receive and respond to questions, support requests, and business inquiries
- Process store orders, payments, shipping, returns, refunds, and related customer service
- Create and maintain player accounts
- Store and synchronize game progress
- Operate leaderboards and online multiplayer matches
- Analyze gameplay and app usage to improve Skillhead
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the website and mobile app
- Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, or other harmful activity
- Maintain appropriate business records
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights or the rights of others
When Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the website, online store, payments, shipping, and mobile app, including Formspree, our website-hosting provider, Square, Google/Firebase, Unity Gaming Services, and Photon/Exit Games, only as needed to provide, analyze, support, or secure those services. We may also share order information with shipping carriers or other fulfillment providers when needed to deliver an order. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or security threats, or protect legal rights and safety.
Data Retention
We keep contact messages and related correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Store order and transaction records may be retained as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, process returns or disputes, maintain tax and accounting records, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Player account information, cloud saves, leaderboard records, and related game data may be retained while an account remains active and afterward when reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Service providers may retain information under their own policies. Cart cookies and session information remain until they expire or you clear this website’s browser data.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, including information associated with a Skillhead player account, or to object to or restrict certain uses. To request account or data deletion, or to make another privacy request, email support@skillhead.com from the email address associated with your account when possible. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained where required or permitted by law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including HTTPS, to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children’s Privacy
The website and Skillhead mobile app are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
International Visitors
ARBITRARY ZEN is based in the United States. Information handled through the website or mobile app may be processed and stored in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the website, our services, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
